Today the Myers for Congress Campaign is pleased to announce the launch of its campaign blog. Available at http://www.myers2008.org/... the blog will serve as a forum for citizens and activists to discuss Dr. Woody Myers’s candidacy for Congress in Indiana’s 7th District.
The blog launch comes two days after the campaign began running radio ads in Indianapolis. Audio of the ad entitled "Mess" is available in the podcast on our Odeo channel.
Dr. Woody Myers is a lifelong Democrat who has served as Indiana Health Commissioner and New York City's Health Commissioner under then-Mayor David Dinkins. He also served on the Reagan Administration's AIDS Commission before very publicly quitting the panel due to the politicization of the group's agenda a few months after joining as Vice Chair.
After his service in the Dinkins Administration Dr. Myers entered the corporate world, serving as the chief medical officer for Ford Motor Co and Wellpoint Health Networks. He has come back to Indiana to re-enter public service and is seeking the democratic nomination for Congressman from the 7th District.
Myers has entered a very crowded field of 8 candidates including the recently elected incumbent Andre Carson (D-IN07) who won the seat in the March 11th Special Election held to fill the seat vacated by Carson's grandmother Julia Carson who died in December after a long bout with cancer.
