At this year's YearlyKos Convention's Netroots Heroes event Barry Welsh announced he is running a second time against right wing reactionary Mike Pence (R-An Iraqi Market Is Just Like Any Indiana Market In Summer) in the Indiana 6th Congressional District in 2008. Barry ran in 2006 with a netroots and grassroots strategy and minimal funding from the Netroots Nation, no money from the DCCC, major donors or PACs and still managed to pull 40% of the vote from speeches, appearances and word of mouth.
This was with no direct mailing, no radio and no TV ads. Pure politicking, chutzpah mixed with charm and a message that he's had enough was all it took for 40% of the voters in the district to decide they have had enough too and want to send a strong message to DC: People Before Profits.
